PlayStation 4-crossplay verlaat de beta-fase. Dit meldt Sony zelf niet officieel, maar kwam naar buiten via een artikel, inclusief interview, van Wired.
While it’s not announcing the news explicitly, the PS4’s cross-play efforts have officially moved out of the beta stage, meaning that the console can support cross-play on any titles that studios provide the functionality for.
Dit betekent niet dat je automatisch in elk spel een knopje aan kan zetten om met je vrienden van andere platformen te spelen, maar het betekent dat elke ontwikkelaar vanaf nu de mogelijkheid heeft om crossplay tussen de PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch en pc toe te voegen aan hun producten. De Twitter-account van Xbox UK meldde al dat dit nu ook een optie is voor PUBG. Shuhei Yoshida, president van Sony Worldwide Studios, heeft dit symbolisch genoeg ook geretweet.

De volgende titel die hier uitgebreid gebruik van zal maken, zal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare zijn. Die game verschijnt 25 oktober.
