Binnenkort komt J. J. Abrams natuurlijk met het nieuwste deel in de Star Wars-saga, maar ondertussen werkt hij ook aan iets volledig anders. Bad Robot(Lost, Mission Impossible, Star Wars VII), de studio van Abrams, werkt namelijk samen met ChAIR(Infinity Blade) om een game te maken.
Het project van de film- en gamestudio heet momenteel Spyjinx en zal volgend jaar al in beta gaan.
J. J. Abrams zegt hetvolgende over de samenwerking:
“I feel like it’s a natural progression from what we’ve been doing. As a gamer, we really wanted to expand into this area of entertainment. Typically Hollywood and games have not gone together well. There have been some notable exceptions, but not too many. We met these amazing people at ChAIR, not just as fans, but as potential collaborators, and what was so cool was, this didn’t begin in the kind of ‘We have an IP we want to force into a game’ or they didn’t come to us saying ‘We have a game we want to make into a TV-show.’ This was like ‘What would be really cool to work on together that would take the strengths from both what Bad Robot has done and what ChAIR has done and make something even better’ and we’re learning so much from them.”
